Bryan Mbeumo Reacts After Completing Dream Move To Manchester United

Cameroonian forward, Bryan Mbeumo has described his transfer to Manchester United as the realisation of a lifelong dream.
Bryan Mbeumo called the Premier League giants “the club of my dreams” following his high-profile move from Brentford on Monday night, July 21.
Mbeumo, who recorded the best campaign of his career last season with 20 goals and 7 assists in the league, signed a five-year deal with United, with an option for an additional year.
The move, valued at an initial £65 million with a further £6 million in performance-related add-ons, ended one of the summer’s longest-running transfer dramas.
“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore growing up,” Mbeumo said after sealing the deal.
The 25-year-old Cameroon international, who will wear the iconic number 19 shirt, becomes manager Ruben Amorim’s third summer signing. His arrival followed that of Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon.
Mbeumo will join the squad for their U.S. pre-season tour this week.
Over six seasons with Brentford, the Cameroonian striker scored 70 goals and registered 51 assists in 242 appearances.
“My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday”, he said. “I know that I have the spirit and character to reach another level here, learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.
“Everybody told me about the environment that is being created here and how exciting the plans are for the future. This is a massive club, with an incredible stadium and amazing fans. We are all determined to challenge for the biggest trophies.”
Note that only Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak bettered Mbeumo’s 23.53% shot conversion rate in the Premier League last season.
Manchester United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, said, “Bryan’s goals and assists record in the Premier League is exceptional. His remarkable consistency has put him among the most productive players in England for the last three seasons.
“Bryan’s belief in our project and determination to join the club confirmed he was the perfect fit for Manchester United and the culture we are developing.”
