Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu on Friday paid a visit to the wife of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha Buhari, in Kaduna State.

Naija News reports that Mrs Tinubu was accompanied by the wives of some members of the National Assembly.

The visit was confirmed on Friday in a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Busola Kukoyi, Media Aide to Remi Tinubu.

She wrote: “First Lady of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu in a warm embrace with Former First Lady of Nigeria Dr Aisha Buhari during the Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s visit to the Kaduna Residence of Late President Muhammadu Buhari with wives of National Assembly members and some Wives of State Governors on Friday 8th August 2025.”

In a statement on Friday, Kukoyi said: “The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Friday, 8th August 2025, led a delegation of wives of National Assembly members and some wives of State Governors on a condolence visit to the Kaduna residence of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

“During the visit, Senator Tinubu was warmly received by the Former First Lady of Nigeria, Dr Aisha Buhari, with whom she shared a heartfelt embrace, reflecting the deep mutual respect and friendship between them. The visit was marked by moments of comfort and solidarity, as the delegation expressed their sympathy to Dr Aisha Buhari and her family over the passing of the late President.

“The Wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, alongside the Wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajia Fatima Tajudeen Abass, and other dignitaries including the Wife of the Kwara State Governor, Amb. Dr Olufolake Abdulrasaq, and the Wife of the Kaduna State Governor, Hajia Hafsat Uba Sanni, joined in offering condolences.

“The visit served as a testament to the unity and shared compassion among Nigeria’s leaders and their spouses at all times.

“The First Lady had paid a similar visit to the Daura home of the Late National Leader on July 19, leading a delegation made up of Governors and Ministers Wives, as well as Spouses of Service Chiefs.”

Recall that Mrs Aisha Buhari recently moved to Kaduna after receiving guests in Daura, following her husband’s passing.

She was warmly received by senior officials of the Kaduna State Government upon her arrival in the state.

Prominent visitors to her new Kaduna residence include the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.
