Aston Villa are exploring the possibility of signing Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea, but the club are only prepared to make a transfer offer if the striker’s asking price drops below £60 million due to financial restrictions (Telegraph).

Unai Emery is keen to add firepower to Villa’s frontline in this summer transfer window and the 24-year-old Senegalese forward is seen as the club’s major target for the role.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are intensifying their push for RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons. The 22-year-old Dutchman is one of the brightest young talents in Europe, but Chelsea’s pursuit has been delayed as Bayern Munich’s move for Christopher Nkunku has stalled (Guardian).

Chelsea is also said to be weighing up a shock transfer bid for Alejandro Garnacho. The 21-year-old Argentina forward remains a crucial part of Manchester United’s rebuild, and the club will not allow him to leave cheaply (Evening Standard).

Newcastle United want Yoane Wissa, but Brentford are holding out for £60m – £20m more than Newcastle are prepared to offer (Northern Echo). Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen is another option on Eddie Howe’s list, though the Norwegian has shown no desire to leave Molineux (The Athletic).

Tottenham Hotspur are targeting Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche as a more affordable alternative to Brazil winger Savinho. Monaco value the 23-year-old attacking midfielder at £47.5m, far below Manchester City’s £70m price tag for Savinho (Independent).

Spurs are also closing in on a transfer deal for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, with the Eagles lining up 19-year-old Southampton winger Tyler Dibling as a potential replacement (Talksport).

Elsewhere in Europe, Nottingham Forest are close to landing Douglas Luiz from Juventus after owner Evangelos Marinakis personally helped broker talks with the Turin club’s general manager Damien Comolli (Tuttosport).

Leeds United are also on the verge of completing an £18.4 million move for Switzerland striker Noah Okafor from AC Milan (Sky Sports Italy).

Wolves and West Ham are battling for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado, though the Spanish giants are reluctant to part ways with the 21-year-old (Marca).

Meanwhile, West Ham are finalising a deal to send Mexican international Edson Alvarez on loan to Fenerbahce (Talksport).

In La Liga, Espanyol are in talks with Burnley about re-signing 20-year-old Italy U21 forward Luca Koleosho on loan (Sky Sports). Over in Serie A, Atalanta’s pursuit of Rodrigo Muniz has collapsed after Fulham rejected a £35m bid for the Brazilian striker (Fabrizio Romano).
